Address: Strandveien 106, 9000 Tromsø
A comfortable whale and fjord safari by catamaran to see and learn more about some of the world’s biggest mammals in a stunning Arctic landscape.
From November to February, whale species such as the whale species such as the Humpback whale, Killer whale (Orca), Harbour porpoise, white-beaked dolphin (springer) and sometimes even the Minky whale and Fin whale, visit the coast to feed on herring. You are invited to come on board with us to take a close-up look at the feast.
Wildlife, fishing, aquaculture, local villages, the weather and the elements in the Arctic as well as the Arctic landscape, including beautiful fjords, are added bonuses as we travel by boat from downtown Tromsø out towards where the whales are most likely to be found.
The catamaran has seating inside for 146 guests as well as spacious decks outside on two levels for excellent viewing and photo opportunities.
There is a kiosk on board to purchase hot expedition meals, snacks and cold drinks.
*Please note that whale sightings cannot be guaranteed.
N.B: The winter weather in the Arctic changes quickly. Due to these changes the tour can be amended at short notice, even during the trip. This can make the trip shorter or longer as well as using different areas from day to day.
Alternative tour: It is not possible to predict exactly when the whales arrive, where they will be or when the whales will leave, since this changes from year to year. If the whales arrive later or leave earlier than expected, we will offer the Fjord Cruise instead
