This Sami culture, scenery and local food tour includes an introduction to the Coastal Sami culture through stories and seeing interesting sights on an easy nature walk surrounded by breath-taking scenery, followed by local food and stories at our camp overlooking the stunning Lyngen Alps.
Not far away from Tromsø in a hidden fjord, you will find an Arctic paradise that remains largely untouched. This is where we offer you Tromsø’s best kept secret, consisting of the best North Norwegian hospitality and warmth at the end of the road, where the scenery is at its most spectacular.
On arrival in the serene and wild Nakka Valley, we visit the site of a former Sami camp and learn a little about Sami history. We then set off on a gentle and fun walk surrounded by sharply pointed mountains. We stop during the walk to investigate interesting and unique Sami sites, take photos and learn more about our magical place and the Arctic environment.
We then continue to our camp overlooking the fjord and the Lyngen Alps, where you will be served local fish soup, a snack and hot drinks. We will also show you the art of preparing a proper camp fire and introduce you to lasso throwing.
